En 2021, la Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) annonce qu’il n’est plus nécessaire d’obtenir un certificat médical signé par un médecin oto-rhino-laryngologiste (ORL), si un audiologiste atteste la déficience auditive de la personne assurée et si les autres exigences sont respectées. Le but est de simplifier les démarches d’accès au programme d’aides auditives en attendant la révision du programme d’aides auditives prévue pour 2022.
