L’implantation cochléaire sous anesthésie locale : Conférence de la Dre Emily Kay-Rivest

À l’occasion de la Journée nationale de l’implant cochléaire, Audition Québec a présenté une conférence de la Dre Emily Kay-Rivest, chirurgienne ORL au CUSM, portant sur un sujet qui en intrigue plus d’un : l’implantation cochléaire sous anesthésie locale avec sédation mineure.

Pendant sa conférence, la Dre Kay-Rivest décrit la technique de base de cette chirurgie, ses nuances, les avantages possibles, en plus de discuter du profil idéal de patient pour ce type d’intervention. Elle répond également aux questions entourant les critères généraux pour une implantation cochléaire, notamment pour les patients âgés de plus de 65 ans.
